Directory of Open Access Journals Sweden. Intwrpretacion Text Available E-cadherin is a cell-cell adhesion molecule and low e-cadherin expression is related to invasiveness and may indicate a bad prognosis in mammary neoplasms.

The expression of cell proliferation markers PCNA and especially Ki, has also proved to have a strong prognostic value in this tumor class. The expression of these markers was related to the clinical-pathological characteristics of 73 surgically removed mammary tumors in female dogs by immunohistochemistry. There was no statistical correlation between these markers and death by neoplasm, survival time and disease-free interval. The significant correlation between the markers expression and these well known prognostic factors used individually or in combination suggests their prognostic value in canine mammary tumors.

Full Text Available The genus Hepatozoon includes hundreds of species that infect birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals, in all continents with tropical and subtropical climates. Two species have been described in domestic dogs: In Brazil, the only species found infecting dogs is H. The objective of this review was to detail some aspects of canine hepatozoonosis, caused by H.

La mejor forma de enfrentarla. Aspectos nutricionais e ambientais da obesidade canina. Experiencia de un centro. Detection of colorectal neoplasia.

Serological biomarkers may be an option for early detection of colorectal cancer CRC. The present study assessed eight cancer-associated hemmograma biomarkers in plasma from subjects undergoing first time ever colonoscopy due to symptoms attributable to colorectal neoplasia.

Combinations of serological protein biomarkers provided a significant identification of subjects with high risk of the presence of colorectal neoplasia. The present set of biomarkers could become important adjunct in early detection of CRC Rabia canina en san Juan de Lurigancho y en Jicamarca.

We present a case of 12 years old patient, with a juvenile or virginal mammary hypertrophy and the postoperative result 5 years later without further recurrence and without any other treatment. Five years later, the outcome is satisfactory to the patient, with very pleasant breast volume and shape, discret scars, good sensibility and without recurrence nor other surgical treatment. Rose hip Rosa canina L: A functional food perspective. Both in vivo and in vitro studies have demonstrated that this fruit exhibits anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antiobesogenic activities.

Neoplasms of the thorax encompass those derived from the thoracic wall, trachea, mediastinum, lungs and pleura. They represent a wide variety of lesions including benign and malignant tumors arising from many interpreyacion.

The topic of discussion in this report is the epidemiology, etiology, and mechanisms of spontaneous intrathoracic neoplasia in animals and man. Much of what we know or suspect about thoracic neoplasia in animals has been extrapolated from experimentally-induced neoplasms. Advances in molecular biology have increased our knowledge of the biology of preneoplastic lesions in the human lung.

The recently published WHO lung tumour classification defines three separate lesions that are regarded gelino preinvasive neoplasia. Detailed criteria are, however, welcome and provide an objective interpretacioj on which to compare various molecular changes. Alterations in gene expression and chromosome structure known to be associated with malignant transformation can be demonstrated in CIS, less so in dysplasias, but also in morphologically normal epithelium.

The changes might be sequential, and their frequency and number increase with atypia. It may take between one and 10 years for invasion to occur, yet the lesion s may be reversible if carcinogen exposure ceases.

AAH may be an important precursor lesion for peripheral “parenchymal” adenocarcinoma of the lung: There is good morphological evidence that AAH may progress from low to high grade to bronchioloalveolar carcinoma BAC; a non-invasive lesion by definition.

Invasion then develops within BAC and peripheral lung adenocarcinoma evolves. The molecular events associated with this progression are not well understood and studies are hampered by a lack of clear criteria to distinguish high grade AAH from BAC. Multiple endocrine neoplasia type I. A case of multiple endocrine neoplasia Men consisting of an unusual combination of an insulin-producing islet cell tumour and an adrenal adenoma is reported.

CT clearly demonstrated the adrenal mass whereas the pancreatic lesion remained questionable. Conversely angiography located the pancreatic tumour but the adrenal findings were subtle.

Fibrobronchoscopy in the lung neoplasia. Fibrobronchoscopy was performed as a reliable method to detect this disease. Punch biopsy, exfoliative cytology, and bronchial lavage Interprteacion used to obtain specimens for the histological study. Of all the integpretacion studied, cases Webre positive and a proper diagnosis by biopsy was attained in 90 of them. Full Text Available In this study the expression of metalloproteinases 2 MMP-2 and 9 MMP-9 in canine normal prostates and with proliferative disorders was evaluated to verify the role of these enzymes in extracellular matrix remodeling ECM and in the tissue invasion process.

A total of prostatic samples were obtained, from which 36 Difference in cytoplasmic immunohistochemical staining of MMP-2 and MMP-9 between acinar epithelium and periacinar stroma was found regarding the different diagnosis.

The correlation between MMP-2 and MMP-9 expression in relation to the number of labeled cells in acinar epithelium and periacinar stroma, as well as to the staining intensity in the periacinar stromal cells was evidenced in canine prostates with PIA.

Moreover, the inflammatory microenvironment of the PIA has influence in the activity of both enzymes. Full Text Available The in vitro antiproliferative and antioxidant effects of different fractions of Rosa canina hips on human colon cancer cell lines Caco-2 was studied. The compounds tested were total extract fraction 1, vitamin C fraction 2, neutral polyphenols fraction 3 and acidic polyphenols fraction 4. All the extracts showed high cytotoxicity after 72 h, both low and high concentrations.

The flow cytometric analysis revealed that all the fractions produce disturbances in the cell cycle caniho in a concomitant cell death by an apoptotic pathway.

Changes in the redox status of Caco-2 cells in response interpretacipn Rosa canina hips were determined. Cells were exposed to hydrogen peroxide in presence of plant fractions and the production of Interpretaciob Oxygen Species ROS was significantly decreased.

Elaboramos un protocolo de cuidados perioperatorios desarrollando los documentos de: Esophagectomy for Superficial Esophageal Neoplasia. Endoscopic therapies have become the standard dsl care for most cases of Barrett’s esophagus with high-grade dysplasia or intramucosal adenocarcinoma.

Despite a rapid and dramatic evolution in treatment paradigms, esophagectomy continues to occupy a place in the therapeutic armamentarium for superficial esophageal neoplasia. The managing physician must remain cognizant of the limitations of endoscopic approaches and consider surgical resection when they are exceeded. Esophagectomy, performed at experienced centers for appropriately selected patients with early-stage disease can be undertaken with the expectation of cure as well as low mortality, acceptable morbidity, and good long-term quality of life.
