Description Building upon his revolutionary theory that the Sphinx dates back much further than BCE, geologist Robert Schoch reveals scientific evidence of advanced civilization predating ancient Egypt, Sumeria, and Greece, as well as the catastrophe that destroyed it nearly 12, years ago and what its legacy can teach us about cigilization own future.

Combining evidence from multiple scientific disciplines, Schoch shows how the last ice age ended abruptly in BCE due to coronal mass ejections from the Sun.

He explains how these events eradicated the civilization of the time and set humanity back thousands of years, only to reemerge around BCE with scattered memories and nascent abilities. He explores within this framework, how many megalithic monuments, underground cities, and ancient legends fall logically into place, scohch well as the reinterpreted Easter Island rongorongo texts and the intentional burial, 10, years ago, of the Goebekli Tepe complex in Turkey.

Schoch reveals scientific evidence that shows how history could repeat itself with a coronal mass ejection powerful enough to devastate modern society.

Weaving together a new view of the origins of civilization, the truths behind ancient wisdom, and the dynamics of the planet we live on, Schoch maintains we must heed the megalithic warning of the past and collectively prepare for future events. PODCAST: Robert Schoch and Forgotten Civilization, #, by Bonnie Faulkner – The Unz Review

Forgotten Civilization is a very well written book that not only reflects an excellent scientific research into the origins of civilization but also is highly entertaining and most enjoyable to read. Get this book and put it in a prominent place on your bookshelf.

It deserves this honor. Twenty-two years ago, his redating of the Sphinx launched the New Archaeology. Forgotten Civilization distills all that has happened since into a simple conclusion: Schoch is no scaremonger, no hawker of a pet theory. What we do with this knowledge is up to us, but once digested, it changes everything.

Our customer reviews For a long time I believed that civilisation extended far back into the past. Evidence is now appearing, particularly at Gobekli Tepi, in Turkey, that this is the case.

It has been the lot of Robert Schoch, the author of ‘Forgotten Civilisations’ to challenge the accepted paradigm that the history of civilisation began around 3,BC. He has done this bravely in his book and been heavily criticised as a result by those who would have our awakening to the past shackled by earlier discoveries.

But his science cannot be challenged. To me it seems like nonsense that the history of mankind is limited to a few thousand years. A few million might be more to the point. His discoveries about the sun’s flares are exciting and believable.

Definitely think the present sunflare activity is responsible for global warming. Well done Robert Schoch.

Forgotten Civilization : The Role of Solar Outbursts in Our Past and Future

An exciting and liberating read. From Fay Anith Cossar.

Being a confirmed bibliophile with a large library of books on lost civilisations ,Ancient Egyptand forgotten cultures I can recommend this book as one of the very best in its genre. From the striking cover design to the immense amount of information and facts contained in this book Robert Schoch pulls no punches in dismissing theories and paradigms where he finds that close study of the evidence clearly show that many accepted facts do not stand up to close scrutiny.

Robert offers many theories of his own on a vast range of topics including Ancient Egypt, dating of the Great Sphinx, Solar Flares and their past and future impact on humanity and our planet. The amount of work and research that has gone into this book must have been truly immense judging by the massive bibliography at the end of the book. I found this bibliography extremely helpful for future research and it pointed me toward other many fascinating books and articles. Overall ,a great read from one of the two brave men who proved that the Great Sphinx is many thousands of years older than conventional history and Egyptologists would have us believe.
